Prosperity Gospel
Here are some powerful words from Pastor John Piper (Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis) regarding the "Health, Wealth and Prosperity Gospel." His words at the end about those of us who live with HIV or cancer or any other illness, are really powerful.

Hi Christopher!
I found your blog this evening and although I only spent 20mins reading it, I found it both refreshing and encouraging. I work with a ministry here in Singapore called "Wonderfully Made!" and I'm glad to have heard such a beautiful testimony like yours.
Thank you for reminding us through this blog that we are all wonderfully and fearfully made!
Hi Christopher,
Came across your blog, with reference on the video clip on prosperity gospel, I was told God wants us well & wants to protect us from the fallen world.
I was told in the New Testament, A father does not harm the son. also not deliberately use a car to crush the son's leg to teach him the dangers of car accidents.
the video clip seems to says God does not wants us to prospers in this life?
Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Psalm 1:3
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Psalm 1:2-4 (in Context) Psalm 1 (Whole Chapter)
Proverbs 16:20
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.
Proverbs 16:19-21 (in Context) Proverbs 16 (Whole Chapter)

Hi Billy,
Luke 16:19-25
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

From Luke 18 (Followers of Jesus Christ on Facebook):
Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Those who heard this asked, “WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?” Jesus replied, “WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH MEN IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD." Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!” “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life”
